3 Little Habits That Give You More Daily Energy

These days, you would be forgiven for feeling perpetually tired. It’s not easy to contend with the usual chores of life, and the responsibilities we have on our shoulders. Of course, that’s not to say those efforts aren’t entirely worth it. Raising a family is very hard, for instance, but overwhelmingly worth your time. That doesn’t mean it’s not tiring, as any experienced parent could tell you.

But what if feeling constantly run-down and like you have nowhere to rest didn’t have to be the standard you lived with? You can’t expect to feel 100% excitable all the time of course (nor would you want to), but there are very worthwhile lifestyle factors that help increase our energy levels and help us feel much more present on a day to day basis. It can be worthwhile to consider what those are in the long run.

So – what are they?

Well, catching up on sleep is perhaps the first answer, from improving your sleep hygiene to figuring out how you can squeeze naps in from time to time. We assume you’re trying that already. Some of the following advice can help you to no end also:

Eating Well

There’s nothing that makes you feel more run down and tired than a bad diet, outside of getting little sleep. A bad diet can prevent your body from gaining the nutrition that it needs, and increased weight or a lack of activity can compound this problem. Eating well (that is plenty of protein, healthy fats, low carbs, fibrous vegetables and leafy greens) can have an amazing impact, particularly if you add intermittent fasting into the mix at your own behest. Supplementing with vitamins and minerals such as vitamin D, b12 and fish oil can also help. A great diet like this not only helps you feel better, but great nutrition helps your body and brain actually, markedly work better. It’s the best place to start.

De-Stressing

Stress releases a hormone named cortisol, and that can leave us feeling tired, anxious, and irritable. Over time, it might even leave us feeling much more run down than we had. Taking a healthy approach to busting your stress, then, is an important habit for you to focus on. From reading a chapter each morning and evening to meditating for thirty minutes (perhaps using mindfulness to your advantage), taking a luxurious bath each night or simply turning off electronics an hour before you go to bed can all have a wondrous effect.

Drink Plenty Of Water

Water is the elixir of life, and unfortunately, many people are under hydrated. Drinking a good amount of well-filtered water each day is essential. It’s also important to cut down on your caffeine intake if you can, substituting large coffees three times a day for smaller drinks like matcha, green tea, standard teas, or herbal options. This helps increase your water intake without caffeine, as caffeine serves as a diuretic. Furthermore, avoiding alcohol or limiting your intake will keep you more and more hydrated, helping you relax more comfortably and competently each night.

With this advice, we hope you can more easily avoid feeling tired all the time, and instead support your body with the attention it needs to feel wonderful.
