How to pack up your home: the easy way

How to #pack up your #home - the #easy wayOk, so moving house is always going to be stressful. We often find ourselves head to toe in paperwork and that’s without the worry about how we are going to move our life in a few cardboard boxes. Well let me share a few tips, there is an easy way to do this.

Clothes, shoes, bags, purses – the wardrobe.

Over the years we accumulate so many clothes and accessories. Most of the clothes in our wardrobe don’t fit us anymore but we keep it anywhere as we love in hope. Stop – just bin it! You’re starting a new chapter and you’re not starting it as a size small, throw the old clothes. Firstly this will have got rid of quite a lot of packing anyway. Next, pack all the shoes and bags in a cardboard box together, eBay is a great place for boxes. Shove a pair of socks into each shoe too so you know where they are and won’t struggle to find the necessities when you are still living out of the suitcase a week after the move. Fold all your clothes in a neat pile, iron them first to smooth them down even more, and pack them into a large suitcase. Plan your outfits for the next couple of days and pack those and towels onto the top of the case so even if you don’t unpack straight away, you can still find them easily.

Bathroom products – shampoo, hairspray, shower gel.

At some point in our life, most people experience the regret of packing bathroom products with our clothes. Pack these all together in a wash bag so if any accidents occur it won’t matter too much. If you want to ensure nothing goes wrong, apply masking tape to the tops of the bottles for the move.

Ceramics, glass and vases.

We all worry about our precious goods when moving. Wrap them up in bubble wrap and place them back in their original boxes if you have them. If you don’t still put them in bubble wrap but why not carry them in the car doors.

Furniture.

Don’t worry about disassembling flat pack furniture. It’s too much hassle to put back up; it was terrible the first time. Instead hire an affordable removals company so you can carry those drawers as they are. You could even leave your clothes in if you are doing this, the only downside you probably won’t get rid of the clutter out of your wardrobe. This saves so much time, effort and worry though and is inexpensive to hire them for a couple of hours.

Duvets, cushions and pillows.

Put them in a bin liner. You won’t have to worry about them getting dusty and you don’t have to show the entire world what you have in your home. My only tips – don’t confuse them with the rubbish your are throwing out.

There you go, a few inexpensive tips to help you move without the stress. Now get excited, you are moving home!
