3 Winter Additions To Your Living Room

Living room interior design is excellent as it can change with the seasons. The way you style your living room in summer will be different from how you do it in winter. This is mainly because it gets darker in the winter and the temperature drops. So, you’re less inclined to focus on brightness and creating summery vibes, and more focused on making the room feel cozy and complete.

There are loads of ways to do this, but the best idea is to add things to your living room that can easily be removed when the warmer seasons return. Today, you’ll see three excellent winter additions for your living area:

Throws

A throw is basically a soft piece of fabric that you literally throw over your furniture. It adds a new texture to your sofa and armchairs, but can also make the room feel so cozy. The presence of this added softness and fluff is very warming, but it’s also essential if you have leather sofas. Leather gets super cold in the winter, making it almost unbearable to sit on. Some soft throws deal with this problem and enhance the wintery vibes of the living room. You can get them in so many designs and materials, so have a browse of your different options before settling on the best ones for your room.

Rugs

Adding rugs to your living space is a genius idea because you’re basically just adding some temporary carpet. It lets you keep the style of a hardwood floor, but add the warmth and coziness that carpet typically brings. You can choose as many small rugs as you want, styling them to suit the rest of your room. Or, you can buy area rugs that are much larger and take up loads of space. If you are buying area rugs, always check the dimensions of your room and the rug before you purchase. They’re designed to take up the majority of the floor space, but you need to be sure they’re not too big.

Curtains

If you usually have blinds in your living room, adding some curtains is a beautiful touch in the winter. They trap heat in the room, further enhancing the cozy effect. Also, they just make the room look a lot more welcoming and warming than blinds do. If you usually have curtains, you can still make a slight change. The great thing about them is that you can take curtains off the pole and put new ones on whenever you like. So, perhaps you replace your current curtains with thicker and more wintery ones? Again, it’s a really simple addition to the room that makes it feel more homely and gives off those winter vibes.

All three of these ideas are easy to apply and relatively cost-effective. The absolute best thing is that they can quickly be removed when you no longer want to give off cozy feels. When the sun appears more often and the temperature rises, you can get rid of all the warming touches and transform your living room back to its non-winter state.
