4 Reasons To Start Wearing Dresses

When you look in your closet, what do you see? Is there lots of variety, or do you mostly have black pants with a selection of different tops to go with them? If so, you’re not alone. Once you find something comfortable to wear that suits your style, you’ll stick with it. However, what if there was something out there that suited you better, or at least gave you something new to try once in a while when you wanted to look different and stand out?

The answer could be a dress – or a number of dresses. If the idea doesn’t appeal because you know you prefer pants, read on. Here are some excellent reasons to start wearing dresses that might surprise you but actually make perfect sense.

Styles For Every Body Type

Everyone is different, and that includes their bodies. You might be curvy or slim, you might be tall or short, you might be athletic, pregnant, or anything else. Because there are so many different styles of dresses, there is sure to be at least one (and probably more than one) that suits your particular body type, no matter what it might be.

The fun part is experimenting to find out what it is that looks great on you. It could be that tiered & flowy babydoll dresses are the right option. Perhaps it’s a tighter-fitting kind of dress. Maybe it’s something that goes down to your ankles, has no sleeves, has a long train, is entirely straight, and so on. With so many styles to choose from, if you take your time and experiment, you’ll find that you will probably find the ideal dress for you, making you look and feel great.

Perfect For Every Occasion

If you want something informal to wear to a picnic, on a day out, or to the grocery store, a dress will work perfectly. A dress will fit the bill if you want something a little smarter to wear to work. If you want to get dressed up for an evening out, why not wear a dress? If you have a special occasion like a wedding or a black tie ball, you can wear a dress there as well. Of course, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to wear the same dress for all of these occasions (although if you want to wear a ballgown to the grocery store, that’s always going to be your choice!), but you can be sure that there will be a dress for every occasion.

This takes away the guesswork about what you should wear. Some dress codes are very vague, and opting for a dress is always a good solution as no matter what kind of dress you’ll wear, they always look great. Add the right accessories and shoes, and you’ll stand out for all the right reasons, not the fact that you wore the wrong kind of clothing to a particular event.

Dresses Are Comfortable

What could be more comfortable than a dress? They are freeing and give you more room to move simply for the fact that they leave your legs unrestricted. Plus, the looser the dress and the more ‘flow’ it has, the more free and comfortable you will feel.

Once you start wearing dresses more often, you’ll realize just how restrictive pants can be if you go back to them. This could change your entire outlook and ensure you are always as comfortable as possible. You’ll be amazed at how much more productive you can be when you are comfortable, even if you didn’t realize you were uncomfortable (or at least a little more restricted) before.

So Much Choice

We spoke about the different styles that are available when it comes to dresses, but don’t forget that they also offer plenty of choice when it comes to design and color. Pants can be pretty boring, and even if the tops you’re wearing are bright and colorful, it’s highly likely that this will be lost in the end because your pants are one standard color – usually black, grey, or beige.

With a dress, you can go all out, and it will look fabulous. You can choose one block of color, you can choose patterns, you can choose florals, and you can even choose images. Because you don’t have to pair any of these designs with anything else (apart from a jacket, perhaps), you don’t have to worry that your chosen design or color will clash with another part of your outfit. A dress stands for and by itself, so you have much more freedom when choosing something you love.
