- Flowers – Have you ever wished you could choose the right flowers for your garden? The right combination of bloomers, in the right season, make all the difference. Starting early is the best option here. As soon as the spring months kick in, you can begin to think about planting the right seeds. Find a list of the best summer plants and flowers, and plant them as early as possible. Getting it right will add a bounty of colour to your garden, and inject some personality into your outdoor space.
- Borders and design – This year, it’s time to get a little more creative with your garden. Rather than the standard lawn and patio combination, try creating some simple borders. Use some decomposed granite or wood chips to spread along the borders. It gives the entire garden some definition and symmetry. It will make your outdoor space look like a professional design! Try it yourself, and see what you can do.
- Decking or patio – We’d all love a simple outdoor space to sit and unwind at the end of the day. You can invite friends round for an evening drink, or even a barbecue. There’s nothing better than a long summer’s evening under the stars. But first, you’ll need to create a seating area. We particularly love a wooden decking area. All you need is some dry, organic timber, and a creative mind! Of course, you can always bring the experts in to take care of things.
- The lawn – The general upkeep of the lawn is often a nightmare. Over the winter, our lawns are ravaged by the cold and ice. The grass dies, and hard brown patches appear in their place. Over this crucial winter period, ensure you are watering it regularly, and use grass feeder if necessary. As the summer brings everything back to life, keep the grass trimmed.
- Water feature – Finally, it’s time to add some decoration into the back garden. Too often, we leave the outdoor space bare and barren. A water feature will add movement and personality to the garden. A small pond or a simple waterfall will bring life to the space. Even a simple birdbath will encourage wildlife, and give your garden a centrepiece.
