Want To Know Why Your Parties Always End Up Flat As Pancakes?

When we decide to host a party, we imagine throwing the best event our friends have ever known. We picture mingling guests, banging music, and a party which stays on everyone’s lips. You want your party to be THE ONE that people still talk about in ten years.

But, something strange always happens when your guests arrive. The atmosphere you imagined just doesn’t come with them. Instead, you end up with awkward groups and an atmosphere which is flatter than a pancake. Admittedly, people do talk about these events for a long time, but not for good reasons.

This can be a disheartening experience. So much so that you may vow never to host again. But, there’s no need to let flat atmospheres flatline your efforts. All you need to do is work out how you can animate your next attempt. Your best chance at doing that is getting to the bottom of where you go wrong. To help, we’re going to look at some common party mistakes which could be tripping you up.

You don’t get the drink flowing soon enough

Social gatherings always tend to be  awkward before the alcohol gets flowing. If we meet our friends at a bar, it tends to be pretty cringe until we’ve had at least one glass. That’s because our inhibitions are up, and our ability to get lost in the party atmosphere isn’t there. So, if you don’t get a drink in your guest’s hands within seconds, the atmosphere is doomed. Don’t let that happen. Instead, take time before the party to either pour bubbly for arrivals. You could even use something like these cocktail recipes to kick off the fun from that first moment. Either way, don’t leave guests standing around without drinks in their hands. That’s a mistake even the best host would struggle to recover from.

Your music selection is all wrong

Music is almost as important as drinks when it comes to throwing a great get together. Upbeat, bass-heavy tracks are sure to inflate even the flattest atmospheres. Equally, slow selections are sure to bring everyone down. Adele may be great for your bedroom, but she’s never going to work in a party setting. If your playlist has always been pretty drony until now, it’s no wonder you’ve struggled. Switch things up by reaching for dance tracks which are sure to serve better.

You get off-course with your guest list

Even the guests you choose to invite can have a significant impact on party success. This can be tricky because we all have different socialisation groups. But, if you invite these separate groups to one party, they’re never going to mingle well. Instead, stick with just your friends or just your work colleagues. If you do invite members from different groups, make sure they know at least someone on the other side. That way, you open the floor for freer communications, and a better vibe all around. That’s sure to mean no more flat parties for you.
