There are basically three main types of vegetable plants that require planning in your vegetable garden design.
Root vegetables include beats carrots radishes. Brassicas include cabbages sprouts and broccoli. Legumes are podded vegetables that include peas and beans. The onion family can have its own plot or be placed with the legumes. Leeks are generally planted at a different time than other vegetable plants and can be placed anywhere that there is space
