Loose paving stones or overgrown weeds give the impression that your property is not 100% taken care of. This could you lose your picky buyers with high standards. By fixing these kinds of issues, you reel them back in.
Next up, the inside of your property. There are a number of things you should work to avoid happening. One is the viewer turning up their nose and saying ‘oh, it smells!’. Whether it’s cooking, pets, damp or something else, be sure you fix this issue. Either get rid of it or at least mask it! You also don’t want viewers to struggle to imagine themselves and their own belongings in the property. So, clear away clutter. Tidy up bookshelves. Paint any brightly colored or garish walls with a more neutral color. Go for a pale gray or a lemon yellow if you feel that bright white is too clinical.
Finally, consider if your house has any ‘bonus points’ that sets it apart from the rest. If so, be sure your viewers see these things and see them in the best light. So, perhaps you have a pool, a balcony or an orchard? If you don’t have something that will set your house apart, consider if you have the time and budget to add it. It could be the thing that seals the deal for somebody.
