Tips for Keeping the Kids Entertained when You’re Stuck Indoors

If you feel as though you are constantly stuck indoors because you can’t afford to go anywhere or simply because you don’t have the time to venture out right now, then you are not alone. So many parents are in the same situation that you are in right now but if you follow these tips then you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to keep the kids entertained without spending anything at all.

Plant some Flowers

If you want to really give your kids something to do, then why not teach them about nature? Have your kids plant a seed in a cup and then track its progress over the coming weeks. You would be surprised at how much your kids will enjoy caring for their plant and the only thing that you need to have is a plant pot and some soil. You don’t even need to buy some seeds either, because you can take the seeds from any vegetables that you have in the fridge. Little things like this will really help you to give your kids the best time when stuck indoors.

Family Game Night

Going out can be expensive, so why not try and host your own games night instead? You can play some board games, or you can even load up a competitive family-friendly video game instead. Either way, if you use what you have around the house then you should have no problems at all in finding something that can entertain everyone. Write a Book

It’s not uncommon at all to find some colourful pictures around the home that your kids have done. If you want to try and give them the best time, then why not ask them to write a story for the pictures that they have created? When you do this, you can then help them to use their imagination and you can also get everyone to join in. If you can, try and do this once a week. When you do, you can then write the next chapter in the story on a regular basis.

Arts and Crafts

Another thing that you can do is try your hand at some arts and crafts. Kids love to get messy, and when you give them a good environment to do it in, you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to give them a good time. If you are not sure what to make then use some pasta shapes to create a picture, make your own gloop by using flour, water and food colouring, or even try your hand at painting with fruit and vegetables. When you do this, you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to help them to be creative and they can also learn about new textures of fruit and vegetables too, which is really good for them.

Of course, keeping the kids entertained doesn’t need to be difficult and if you follow the above tips then you will soon find that it is easier than ever to give them the time of their lives, in the comfort of your own home.
