Wall Steamer

If you’re going to be removing wallpaper, you need to do it properly. Just tearing at it is going to leave pieces left on the wall. You need to use a steamer to detach the adhesive properly. This will cause the wallpaper to wilt off the wall of its accord. At the very least it should be easier to remove.

This’ll give you nice bare walls to start working with.

Disposal Facilities

There’s going to be a lot of waste when it comes to a home renovation. Sure you can try getting rid of some of it in your household bins. It won’t be able to hold enough though. Especially when it comes to larger renovations that involve removing fittings and surfaces.

A mini skip can be used to pile the waste into it, and when you’re done, it’ll just be driven away. A mini skip can be hired from www.aotskipbins.com.au. It’ll make your efforts a lot easier if you don’t have to worry too much about waste disposal.

Hammer

If you’re doing a large scale renovation, you’re going to need a hammer. Some fittings and surfaces are very well attached and can be very hard to pull out of the walls. Significant force can be used to pull them out of the mooring, but it’s easier to use a hammer to knock it loose instead.

You’ll need different hammers for different jobs. A handheld hammer will be fine for loosening a sink off a wall. If you’re knocking through a wall to make a room bigger though, you’ll need a mighty sledgehammer.

The claw on a hammer is going to come in handy too. If you’re changing the carpet, you’ll have to pull it up away from the wall with the claw. Then you can use your hands just to rip it up entirely.

Likewise, if you’re removing the skirting board, the claw on a hammer can be used to jar it away from the wall.

Screwdriver

This’ll be needed for smaller jobs that involve screwing and unscrewing. Take doors for example. Your home renovation could include brand new doors, and would require removing the old ones entirely from the doorway. Just take a screwdriver to the doors and take them right off the hinges.

Paints & Rollers

If you’re going to be painting walls or ceilings, you’ll need these to get the job done. It’s advised you get a proper paint roller for the ceiling. It has to be long enough to reach the top of the ceiling from a standing position.

Don’t forget a paint tray of the right width either. You’ll need to coat the roller nice and thick with the paint while doing the ceiling. Failure to do so could cause uneven spots.
