Stress-Free Tech Your Home Needs

The other day we got caught in a thought cycle and that led on to more thinking. You read all these blogs about how to keep a happy home and, without fail, they all talk about how the whole decluttering thing helps reduce stress, which is true, but this point is almost always immediately followed by a paragraph about how technology can help manage stress too. But isn’t adding technology to your home just another way of adding more stuff, which is simply adding to the whole clutter issue. It’s a nightmare.

Anyway, with this thought running riot in our frontal lobe, we decided to see what sleek technology out there could make a home a happier place without it taking up more space than necessary. After all, mess equals stress.

  1. Amazon Echo Dot

Okay, this just had to be at the top of our list and for a few very obvious reasons. The first is the size. It’s 3.3 inches in diameter. That’s nothing. That’s like the size of a baby housefly. So, as far as clutter goes, this is barely going to make a dent. The other reason it gets a nod on the happy house list, however, is because they are such a big help. “Alexa, play some classical music,” or “Alexa, can you remind me to pick up some milk when I leave?” It’s a stress-reducer. Fact.

  1. AromaCube

Of all the senses you have, smell is the one that’s most linked to peace and tranquility and happiness. Getting home after a long day at work and being hit by a wave of home-smell is incredible. But more than that, certain smells can take you back to happy memories. It’s amazing. The problem is, having a ton of candles and diffusers dotted around constitutes as clutter. That’s why you need to pop onto www.aromatech.com and get yourself the AromaCube.  It’s compact, it’s portable and it’s less than $30. It’s incredible.

  1. Baxter Phone Dock

When you’re looking for a stuff that serves a purpose without taking up too much space, what you want to hear are the words “sleek, modern and wonderfully functional” and that’s exactly what the Baxter Phone Dock is. It holds all the accessories you probably put down on your bedside table – phone, watch, pen and even a little space for your jewelry or loose pocket-change. That means a) you won’t lose anything and get stressed and b) won’t look at your messy bedside table and get stressed.

  1. Legrand Adorne Pop-Out

This is definitely for those that get annoyed by busy outlets. You know, the ones above your kitchen counters that get in the way when you are trying to cook or bake or sort through your bills or whatever. Well, that is where the Legrand Adorne Pop-out Outlet swoops in like a superhero. All you do is push it in and it pops out of the wall. That means it is there when you need it and it is hidden when you don’t. Winning.
