Stocking Filler Ideas for Your Mum or Grandma

There are only a few weeks left to go, lovely people! Are you all set for Christmas? I have got a few bits left to get so I shouldn’t be too rushed or stressed. I do struggle to know what to get for my mum, though. Grandparents are the same. So I’ve had a think a put together a little list of some ideas that are go-to’s for ‘women of a certain age’. Hopefully, this is helpful if you still have some gifts to buy.

Jewellery

I don’t think you can go too far wrong with jewellery. There is such a variety of jewellery out there, so it will depend on your budget. Rings can be a bit tricky unless you know their ring size. I think bracelets are probably the best option to go for. They can be cheaper than necklaces and wouldn’t need resizing. There are some lovely Pure by Coppercraft bracelets that I have been looking at.

Food & Drink Gifts

I know, I know, food isn’t always the best option for females. But, it doesn’t have to mean chocolate. It could be a savoury food gift, such as crackers and chutney for example. That is something that you could make yourself too. The fact that you have put in extra time will mean so much more to your mum or Grandma, than the cost of the actual gift. Other good food gifts that you could make are jams or curds, cookies or cupcakes. Choose their favourite flavours and you’ll be sorted.

For drinks, it could be something like a little set of miniatures, to some yummy fruit teas. It depends on her taste of course. I think that if they are fancier than something she would ever just buy for herself, then you’re onto a winner.

Large Shopper Bag

Now, I don’t mean one of those 10p ones you get at the supermarket. But since the carrier bag charge was introduced in October, I think everyone will be after a shopper bag. You could opt for a large canvas version but I think a hessian bag, perhaps filled with a few goodies, would be a lovely option. You could also get a bag that folds up small as a little stocking filler; then she can just have it in her handbag and pull it out as and when required.

Hobby Supplies

Does you mum or grandmother have any particular hobbies? If so, you could get them a magazine related to that. You could also get her some supplies for that hobby. Sewing kits or patterns will be fab if that is a passion of hers. A running or walking magazine and a water bottle if being more active is her thing. Have a think about what she likes and get a few smaller bits relevant to that. Knowing that you have thought about her and specifically what she likes, will make such a difference.

Good luck with the rest of your Christmas shopping. I’m so excited to wrap all my presents!
