In my opinion, everyone should be making all attempts possible at going green. I am a personal believer in global warming, but even if you are not… helping the environment is nothing but good. It helps reduce pollution, harm to animals and ingesting nasty chemicals (just imagine what that does to our bodies!) Organic gardening is a fun project to do on your own or with your little ones — a great way to teach them about the environment with an activity!

Scotts Florida Select Natural Eucalyptus Mulch is made from 100% Florida grown eucalyptus. It is great for sustainable gardening as it is a renewable resource that grows up to 4 times faster than cypress mulch. It is 100% natural and free of waste materials such as demolition, construction and pallet waste. It also naturally prevents weeds while helping to maintain soil moisture levels and soil temps. It is also 100% Florida grown. So if you live in Florida, you are helping your local economy.

You can choose from 3 colors of mulch to blend your landscaping or garden: Classic Black, Sierra Red and Deep Forest.

A 3 inch layer of mulch will help naturally prevent weed growth by blocking sunlight access.
What gardening supplies will you need?

A few tips for using Scotts Mulch:

  1. Wait until your plants have germinated and developed. You don’t want to add mulch to underdeveloped vegetable plants. Avoid wood surfaces and stay at least a few inches from your house’s foundation.
  2. Weed the entire area, making sure to pull the weed roots up.
  3. Use your hose to thoroughly water the garden plot.
  4. Spread the mulch. You want to spread it approximately 3 inches deep.
One 2 cu. ft. bag will cover a 12 sq. ft. of garden bedd at a depth of 2 inches OR an 8 sq. ft. garden bed at a depth of 3 inches OR a 6 sq. ft. garden bed at a depth of 4 inches.
