Mmm Homemade Pasta!

My mom got me a pasta maker and I finally got around to trying it. It is manual, and man did I get a lil workout pumping out that dough! I made a batch of wheat pasta, and it looks delicious, but I didn’t think to take a pic of it till after I froze it (it’s only good 24 hours fresh), so that is why it is kinda mushed up. I love fresh pasta, but it was A LOT of work. I dunno how much I’ll use it, but may consider an automatic one LOL. I will give it one more try before I decide, because I know it was much slower with me trying to learn how to use it.

  1. I’ve been making pasta for years! I’ve made all kinds of pasta. You don’t want to have it in a ball like that. Get yourself a drying rack, put each piece of pasta on it. I don’t dry mine completely as I do freeze it. But, it’s mostly dried. Then I carefully layer it and put in zip lock bag. It keeps long past 24 hours that way. I’ve made spinach pasta, tomato basil pasta, egg noddles at Thanksgiving, macroni etc. Great fun and always a treat.

  2. Wow, thank you for the tip! I love the taste of fresh pasta. I obviously need to invest in an electric machine LOL.
