Improve Your Health, And Ditch The Cigarettes

If you’re a smoker or live with one, you know it doesn’t do any good for your home. Anybody will tell you that a smoker’s home smells. It just does. You might not have noticed it. The thing is with smokers is that your sense of taste and smell becomes diminished.

Not only that, but you get used to the smell too. It’s a stale, ashen smell. It certainly couldn’t pass for any perfume I’ve ever smelt. Not only will your house smell, but your clothes and hair too. The smoke smell tends to stick to those things.

You carry it around with you all day. It’s not pleasant for those around you, even if you are ignorant of it.

The damage it does to your walls is incredible too. Smoke turns the walls yellow, and even dark brown near the top. The smoke can clog up your electronics too. Not only is it drastically unhealthy, it’s ruining your decor. Sure you can smoke outside, but why not make a more positive change?

Vaping is an option if you still want your nicotine hit without stinking and ruining your home. Vaporizers do smell too, but of the scented liquid you put in it. You could have pear drops e liquid if you desired. The sweet smell of artificial pear is a lot better than cigarettes, I’ll wager that.

If vaporizers don’t seem like your thing, how about nicotine gum? They always said chewing gum was a dirty habit, but if it’s getting you off the cigarettes it can’t be all that bad.

Nicotine gum comes in a variety of strengths. Ideally you’re supposed to wean yourself off nicotine by switching to lower intensity gum over time. If you’re not looking to quit nicotine, just stick to the high intensity gum to reduce the craving to go back to cigarettes.

It can be significantly strong though, as it is meant to replace more than just a single cigarette. It has been described as like chewing ten cigars at once.

Of course, this list wouldn’t be complete without nicotine patches. What’s even left to say that hasn’t been said already? They can be effective for sure. You might not find them the most powerful replacement for cigarettes though.

They should keep the craving under control. They lack the oral factor that comes with cigarettes, vaporizers, and the gum though. You may end up going back to cigarettes just for that feeling.

Finally, we have cold turkey. This is for those amongst you that have the strongest of willpower. It isn’t a very easy road to take, no matter how determined you are to stop smoking.

It may lead to a few withdrawal side effects. This may include some sweating and heart palpitations. They’ll pass though, your real concern is fighting the craving. The craving will have you being overwhelmed by temptation.

If you can make it out the other end, congratulations. If you decide you can’t do it, find an alternative to cigarettes. Otherwise, you’re back to yellow walls and smelling like a damp ashtray.
