If you make your own silicone molds, you can save a ton of money, not to mention create a mold of practically anything. My example is a mold of a basketball button. It is super easy to do and one package (usually $20 or a little less) can make tons of molds. I used a package to make molds of button shapes, and I must have made 30-40 easily.
Items to mold (buttons, charms, jewelry pieces, silverware, get creative!)
Roll the putty into a ball, close to the size of the object you want a mold of. I made mine just a tad smaller since flattening out the bottom will enlarge it.
Keep pushing until the item is completely immersed into the putty. Make sure it didn’t break through on the bottom. I press the mold onto a flat surface so it will be easier to work with after it sets.
This is the hardest part! Don’t touch the item and let the mold set. The package will advise you on how long this takes. I got impatient and messed a few up. Once it is set, gently peel the mold away from the item. Now you can make lots and lots of them for your crafting addictions!
