Great Gift Ideas For The Whole Familly

There is nothing like giving a gift to someone who you love and hold dear. Whether it’s a birthday or another special occasion, there’re plenty of opportunities around the year to give your loved one a present or two. I think it shows how much you care. But, I suppose I think of gift giving a little differently to most people. I like to see it as an opportunity. More often than not, I find myself buying a gift for a family member. I either buy a present for my husband or my children.I often see this as a chance to nurture, to grow or to celebrate. Let me show you what I mean.

For My Husband

For my husband, I try to make the gift personal. But I also want to be the chance to celebrate and sure, why not take the time to make it related to religious beliefs. I think a bottle of wine is the perfect gift if you want to take a moment to celebrate while sitting and having a meaningful conversation. Kent St Cellars gift wraps the wine for you and turn it into a beautiful present that anyone would love.

I have also been known to buy my husband something that we can share together. For instance, you can get matching jewelry sets. I think these are incredibly romantic and accentuate the commitment that you made in marriage. My husband feels the same, and I often see him wearing whatever I buy for us both.

I also on occasion try to use the gift of words. Sometimes I’m not sure if my words are reaching anyone out there, but I must admit I’m quite fond of poetry. I do, on occasion, try to write something meaningful to him as a present. It is usually unique to our past, history and where I see us in the future. I feel I’ve succeeded if I see any sign of a tear forming in his eye.

What do you buy the little ones? Well again, I try to see it as an opportunity to help them grow and become more than who they are. I quite like the idea of buying something that is educational. For instance, you may have noticed the cookbook the boys are keen on using. I love teaching them to cook at an early age – a skill that will help him throughout his whole life, and also really beneficial for learning some practical maths skills.

As simple as it sounds I still think a book is a great gift for a child. I know the tech whizzes out there are thinking: why not a tablet? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not stuck in the dark ages. But if you buy a book on a tablet, it’s just a digital file. If you buy a book, you can write a personal message in it, and he will keep it forever. Besides, I love the way books smell after years in a home library.
