Cross Sliding Knot Bracelet {DIY}

Cross Sliding Knot Bracelet {DIY}I love sliding knots. They’re easy to make once you get the hang of it and they have such a flexible fit that you can adjust them to wear anywhere on your arm candy party! In case you’re wondering, the other bracelet in the pic is the DIY Macrame Bracelet by Honestly WTF.

DIY Macrame Bracelet

Very cute and fun way to learn macrame. Now, on to the tutorial!

Materials: Curved cross connector (or other curved connector) of your choice, cording (i am using waxed cotton), thread burner or lighter, and glue (optional)

Cut cord and string one end through each loop of the connector. You want extra so you can tie your adjustable knot. I believe I cut 6 inches, but you can use your judgement.

Tie and adjustable knot on each end. They may seem daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it, they are easy peasy! Here is a good tutorial on how to make adjustable knots. Here is another adjustable knot tutorial that I like.

Then you just pinch and slide your bracelet to its desired length! You can optionally add a dab of glue, but make sure it is just the knot so it will still slide. You don’t want to get it on the base. Use a thread burner or lighter to seal the ends of the cord so it doesn’t unravel. Once your glue is dry, snip it or leave it, depending on how you like the ends to look!

PS – I party here!

  1. I am super impressed with a sliding knot. It’s a terrific idea for a bracelet. I wish I could be a first class knot-tier like you. I never even finished that lanyard at summer rec. Nope…just didn’t get it!
    Thanks for linking up at Monday Funday!
    Have a great week!

  2. I love these sliding knot bracelets. My daughter recently purchased one very similar to this except the charm attached had rhinestones. It was not inexpensive either. I think I may try this.
    Thank you for posting.
