I wanted to make a cake and the best homemade chocolate icing from scratch and although I haven’t come across any cake recipes that are worth drooling over, I came across an easy-to-do delicious homemade icing recipe. Super easy to make and very yummy!
What You Need:
5 1/3 tablespoons soft butter
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 tablespoons boiling water
1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
a pinch of salt
- Cream the butter in a large bowl.
- Add a pinch of salt, cocoa and boiling water. Stir until it is smooth.
- Add powdered sugar. Use a hand mixer (or beat by hand) until the icing is at your desired consistency. Add more powdered sugar to thicken it or water to thin it.
Make a homemade icing dispenser by putting the icing into a baggy. Cut the corner off and squeeze the icing out onto your baked goodies.
