When you have kids, lots of storage is necessary, in every room, including the bathroom. The problem is that no matter how large a bathroom is there always tends to be a lack of storage space, am I right?

My bathroom is the same, even though it’s a nice sized space; there just isn’t enough storage. That’s why, a few weeks ago I decided to explore the different ways that I could add more storage to my bathroom. After doing lots of research, scouring the internet for ideas and asking friends for tips, I had found lots of suitable options.

As the ideas I found helped me to sort out my bathroom’s storage, I thought that I would share them with you. Just in case you are also struggling when it comes to your home’s bathroom storage space.

For my guide to all the best bathroom storage ideas, keep reading, below:

Have an airing cupboard built

If your bathroom doesn’t already have an airing cupboard, you could have one installed. Whether you can have an airing cupboard installed will depend on how large the room that the wall backs onto is. You see, if you have an airing cupboard built it will take up space from the room beside the bathroom.

If the room that the bathroom is next to has spare space, then having an airing cupboard fitted is a great idea. If your bathroom is small, airing cupboards are the ideal storage space as they don’t take up any space in the bathroom.

To have an airing cupboard fitted, you would need to hire a contractor. However, it shouldn’t be too expensive, as it should only take a day or two to create your airing cupboard.

Add a bathroom cabinet

If you have spare space on your bathroom wall, the simplest way to add storage space is by adding a bathroom cabinet. The best thing about using bathroom cabinets to add storage to your bathroom is that they are affordable and only take minutes to fit. Plus, as most of them are fitted to the wall, they don’t take up any of your precious floor space.

If you take the time to browse different types of bathroom cabinets online, you will see lots of different styles available. This is important, as this means that no matter what the style of your bathroom is, you should be able to find a cabinet that will work well with the decor.

Use stacking boxes

If you are unable to have an airing cupboard built and have no room for a bathroom cabinet, the best storage option for your bathroom is stacking boxes. These come in all sorts of shapes, sizes and designs, so you should be able to find stacking boxes that will work well in your bathroom.

As bathrooms tend to get damp from the steam, it’s a good idea to choose stacking boxes made from a waterproof material. It’s best to avoid cardboard and wood, instead invest in boxes made of metal or plastic.

Adding storage to your bathroom isn’t always easy, especially when your bathroom is small. However, there are lots of simple ways that you can ensure that your bathroom has all the storage space that you need.
