Use Pretty Pastels

There’s nothing quite like a lot of pretty pastel colours to make your living room look more summery. For example, a sofa in a dark shade of pink can be complemented with a patterned rug in similar colours. You can then choose a few other pastel colours to tie into the theme, perhaps by using artwork and accessories. Patterned cushions and throws are a must! You could have your very own ‘icecream’ themed living room.

Make it Fresh and Crisp

You can keep your living room looking fresh and crisp by keeping the room mainly white. You can then add a lovely injection of colour by choosing furniture that includes a large, bright pattern of some kind. The chairs then become your focal point. Keep the rest of your furniture white, even your TV cabinets if you can!

Make it Elegantly French

A French style living room gives a lovely country twist by using cute checked fabric in subtle tones. You can continue this theme at the window by using full length curtains. White, shabby chic style furniture and accessories look amazing too!

Choose Neutral Patterns

By choosing mainly neutral colours, you can make the room look more interesting by choosing crisp looking patterns. A wooden floor paired with cream, beiges, and browns looks lovely, especially when you choose striped patterns to go with it. You can even make it look fun by using throws and cushions with star patterns, and other cute patterns on them!

Mix it Up

If you prefer to have a lot going on in your living room, try mixing up some funky patterns for an amazing, colourful look. Try to tie the colours in together, but don’t make them too ‘matchy matchy’ for the best result. A patterned sofa with mixed pillows and a funky feature wall look very cool. You can even mix up your style of furniture for a great look.

Multi Colored Florals

Who doesn’t look the look that multi colored florals can give the living room? Select this either in the form of wallpaper or your sofa, and then choose a pattern such as stripes for the wall or a rug. Keep the rest of the room quite neutral to avoid it looking too busy, and you’re ready to invite your friends over for a cup of tea!

Follow these schemes to help make your living room look more summery! If you don’t want to totally redecorate, simply add some bright colours and patterns in the form of cushions, rugs, and throws. Thanks for reading!
