Beauty and confidence are incredibly tricky qualities. I’m a strong believer that everyone is beautiful in their own way, but if a person isn’t confident and doesn’t see themselves the same way I do, then they’re never going to feel beautiful. The media has made beauty standards unrealistic and unattainable, to the point where many women feel as if they’re never going to be beautiful because they don’t have the time or money to look like celebrities. However, there are plenty of things that you can do to boost your confidence and feel beautiful. Here are a few to consider.

This is such a simple piece of advice, but it genuinely works. Smiling, regardless of whether or not you’re genuinely happy, triggers the release of chemicals in your brain that trick your body into actually feeling happy, which goes a long way if you want to feel confident. It also helps to brighten up your face, which helps you to look younger and more attractive, which is vital if you’re self-conscious about your age.

A lot of the time, women start to feel bad about the way they look, not because they actually look bad, but because they look the same every single day. You’d be surprised at just how beautiful and confident buying a new dress or changing your hair colour can make you feel. You should also plan a proper skin care routine, to ensure you glow from top to bottom.

Unfortunately, you can do all of these things in a bid to feel beautiful and confident, and still have negative people hold you back and put you down, but you don’t need to put up with it. If someone isn’t treating you with love, respect, and kindness, then it’s okay to walk away. You are just as important as everyone else on this planet and deserve to be treated as such. Put yourself first, and cut out the negativity.
