5 Must-Have Tools for Mompneurs

So you are a work at home mom, an entrepneur (mompneur), and/or an independent contractor. Regardless of which (or all), there are ways to make your work life easier, which in turn will make your home life run smoother. Any mom can attest, working from home with kids is HARD! You need to have ultimate time management, the ability to hide and work, superior and fast cleaning abilities, and endless energy. Wait are you a superhero?

Yes, moms ARE superheros. Overlooked and underrated at times. Don’t get me wrong, kids and family are totally worth it. But I find myself wondering on a daily basis if I should get adequate sleep or work. You need to look out for yourself (and in turn, your family because a “happy wife is a happy life”) and make the most of your time. Here are 5 must-have tools for mompneurs:

Evernote

There are so many “notepad” apps out there, but I love Evernote for a few reasons:

  • It’s free! You can upgrade (and it’s worth it), but I started off with the free app, which lets you access it across 2 devices.
  • Sync across multiple devices. I have more than 2 devices I regularly use (iphone, ipad, laptop, desktop), but you can still access it by logging into the website. It auto saves your notes. You can create different notepads. There are guides and books out there just on utilizing all of Evernotes features. However, it won’t overwhelm you as a newbie. I’m sure I’m not utilizing it to the best of it’s ability and I’ve been using it for 2 years! I just chose my two most used devices and put the app on those (my iphone and my imac). If I’m on one of the other devices, I just log in and I can still access and edit from there.

User IQ

Here is one that I hadn’t heard of until recently. This is great for mompneurs who are ready to branch out and delegate some of their work so they can free up time for family or to focus on other areas of the business. User IQ’s platform for customer success helps you by increasing your customer engagement, which turns into more sales. It’s like having sales and customer support in one!

Google Docs

Google Docs are great for those of us who don’t have the money to invest in Microsoft Office. You can use the word processor, spreadsheet, and other apps. You can share the documents and if the person has Microsoft Office, they can view their file there or through Google Docs. Documents are auto saved and stored on your Google Drive. The interface is incredibly similar to Microsoft Office, so if you already know how to use it, you will pretty much know how to use Google Docs, too!

Honorable mentions: (free apps to help you)

  • Gmail (email)
  • PicMonkey and Canva (designing graphics)
  •
