2 Golden Rules: You’re Never Too Busy For Your Body

We are living as part of an incredibly busy generation. Everything must be done five seconds ago type of thing. Don’t take this the wrong way; we are busy with a purpose, and are one of the most productive generations that have ever lived. If we come across a problem, we produce a thousand and one solutions thanks to an outreach of creatives and straight-thinkers alike who are available at the click of a button. However, this comes at a price. There are those that are able to integrate looking after themselves in with their day-to-day job; they create reminders on their phone to workout, schedule gym dates into their diaries and have a wealth of technological devices to help remind them when to drink, assess how many calories they’re burning on a daily basis and give them a nudge to get moving when they’ve been dormant for too long. But what about everybody else?

Book In Person, Book Online

A lot of us are neglecting our general health and seeing professionals in favour of researching our symptoms on Google. This is dangerous for many reasons, but not least in that you could get carried away and worry yourself unnecessarily or, on the other end of the scale, not worry yourself enough about what’s happening to you and only look at the problems that can be immediately fixed/don’t require much attention. There are a shocking number of us who aren’t registered with a local doctor, but no longer should this be a worrying thing; there are online services such as Babylon that help to get you in touch with a registered doctor with a few simple taps on your smartphone. There really is an app for everything, eh? If you haven’t had a general checkover in months or even years, now is your time to do it. You’ve got no excuse – especially if you can use your social media time as general health time instead.

Drink, Drink, Drink!

Getting your recommended daily amount of water into your system can be hard going. Eight glasses of water per day, at the very least, can be a challenge to consume if you’re not used to getting your fluids this way. A lot of us tend to work off a couple of beverages per day, usually in tea or coffee form, as well as relying on what we eat to provide us with water. This is fine, but that’s about it – just fine. It’s not great, it’s not particularly beneficial and it definitely isn’t doing your body any favours. If you can’t remind yourself to take a drink, invest in a smart water bottle that will remind you when you need to drink and congratulate you when you hit your target. Just taking in more water can help with so many things, from physical health problems to aiding any mental health issues that you may have. Not only that, but it’s great to get you focused and concentrating more on the day ahead.
